Hi guys,

I have bought an arc mini r2 case a few weeks ago. I will be transferring my rig from my old case to this one. I was wondering what is the best combination of fans to have in there. Currently the case comes with one intake fan at the front of the case and two exhaust fans one at the top and one at the rear.

My question is do I keep this setup or add one more intake fan? Or can soneone suggest a different combination. By the way I will not be overclocking.

Thanks

I have two strong fans in the front (Akasa Vipers) and two corsair sp120s in the top and one af120 in the back.

Still is positive airflow because the akasas push a lot more air even on 7v with the corsair fans on 12v

Thanks for your reply. Are the Akasa Vipers silent fans?

No fans are silent. They are rather quiet and don't lose much performance at lower speeds.

Sorry my bad. Wrong choice of words. I did mean quiet. Can you recommend any fans with white led's?

There aren't any that would compare well to Akasas in terms of overall noise and performance.

Do Akasas only do yellow blade fans?

No. Akasa Apaches are the normal version that come in black. Vipers are just yellow Apaches. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/akasa-case-fan-akfn058

They have Apaches which are all black, and Piranhas which are a gunmetal grey kinda colour. The Piranhas are pretty similar spec wise to the Vipers. The Apaches are lower airflow (57CFM), but still enough for most cases.

Aerocool ds fans have white led and are quiet at lower voltages (not at 12) and blow a lot of air even at 3v

Just been doing some research on the spec for Aerocool DS Fans, the airflow is 64.8 CFM and the Piranah fans have an airflow of 79.13 CFM.  Obviously, the Piranah has higher airflow.  However, will it make that much of difference or not a lot.  These figures don't really mean anything to me.

The Piranha isn't nearly as quiet as the Apache and isn't really worth looking at. As for the Aerocool DS, it's generally overpriced for what it is.

Just had a thought. I have ordered 2 akasa apache fans, which I will use as the front intake fans. So the sock fan which I had in the front, shall I use that as an exhaust fan at the top making it 2 intakes and 3 exhust?

Or, should I use it as a intake fan at the bottom of the case, making it 3 intakes and 2 exhaust?

Hope this makes sense......

Go with more intakes than exhaust to create positive airflow which should push dust out of unfiltered crevices instead of pulling dust in.
