Not really.... Z97 really just adds some cool features, if he's been using H87, and he's fine with it, then Z87 is still goodl.

well I my friend had some trouble with the z87 mobo he had an a 4690k. some kind of weird bios thing. he had to get a z 97 mobo for it to work

z87 works, just needs a bios update :D

No. Don't do it if you're content with what you have now ,you probably wouldn't even use the features Z97 offers, which arent too many. IF you hadn't bought anything yet, Iwould  refccomend a z97 and 4690k, but in your situation, you're fine.

You have to update the bios to use it correctly.

Well I already have the i5 and h87n combo with me...so ill just decline his offer then...and also wanna ask you is it a good idea water cooling this chip of mine cause my temps goes to 60-70 when redering my cpu cooler is an nh-l9i and I was thinking of changing it with a nepton 140XL aslo my case is a 250D if that matters

Considering it's mini-itx there isn't much for CPU clearance, and I think a nepton is overkill, but I guess it's one of your options, it does work.

What could you suggest??also do you think my GPU temp is safe? my highest is 77 im just using a  gtx 980 reference cooler
