Is my PSU alright to run 9.592v on the 12v rail?

Don't trust any software readout. Get a cheap multimeter. It will do the job more than well enough.

my PSU is a 500w PSU that came from my case and is it alright that is running at 9.592v on the 12v rail but 3.296 on the +3.3v? 

 

and can it cause BSOD's?

ok can it cause NTFS bsod's at all? because im getting a lot of them and I mean A LOT!

9.6v on the 12V rail? Yes it probably could cause BSODs, better get rid of the PSU that came with your case, if those readings are in any way accurate  :mellow:

 

EDIT: You said it was from HW monitor, Not accurate enough IMO, it could be something else causing BSODs

try using aida 64 to measure it and screen shot it for us please :)

Tolerance is only ±5% for each rail to be within ATX specification. So the 12 V rail should be between 11.4 V and 12.6 V. If the 9.592 V reading is accurate, that's bad, and could certainly cause BSODs.

 

But like the others said, software readings alone can't be trusted to that degree.

i was running 10.999 volts on my 12 Volt rail with my 500 watt thermaltake PSU and it was causing NTFS BSODs.

Replacing it fixed my issue.

HW Monitor, while still software, is more or less reliable.
