Good 3D modeling program?

I would like to expand my knowledge a bit further so im looking for a 3D modeling program that has a sbap to grid feature. Nothing too fancy considering ill only be doing 3D pixel art

I use Maya 2013, Its not too difficult to figure out after watching a few toutorials

Or Modo! If you are a student, they do a mean student discount. 

 

For Maya or Max, there is a evaluation version free for students. 

 

The main thing is learning the 3D concepts which then you can apply it to any of the programs. Each have their strengths in the different workflows/tools to achieve the end results. I would definitely just play around with a few and see what tickles your fancy. 

 

But as a beginner, I would definitely go for blender.
