I dropped my phone in a "river" aka my street

geforceftw

So earlier today a water line broke on my street and ended up flooding almost my entire street. I dropped my phone in the gutter it got swept away for about 10 feet. I was able to get it out and pull the battery Then i put my phone in rice and i just checked it and it works. My phone was in the water for ~4 seconds

Since it works should i still take it apart and clean it with alcohol? My phone was submerged in rice for over an hour. I have the Galaxy Note 3.

My profile pic is the game i'm currently playing. I hope i remember to change it..

Keep it in rice overnight. If you feel it is necessary, clean with alcohol. I am not sure that it is though.

I'd leave it in the rice over night just to be safe, but if it still works then it should be fine.

Cnet usually leaves the phone in rice overnight. Most of the phones survive. I would leave it in there for 24 hours.

I dropped my phone in water, on purpose.

probably would be a good thing if you keep it for upto a week or overnight like others have said, in rice, you don't want to risk anything, then try to clear thing sout from the internals..

Details separate people.
