Im planning on getting a Z97 Sabertooth Motherboard and going to remove and paint the thermal armor. But, im trying to figure out whether to go paint or plasti dip. Yes i know the main big thing about plasti dip is you can peel it off, so i DO NOT want this topic to be about how plasti dip is better because you can peel it offIf you think plasti dip would be better than paint, i want other reasons why other than the typical "you can peel it off". Thanks in advance guys.

I mean if you ever want to revert to the original then go plastidip. If not then paint.

Plastidip has a better matt finish than what most paints can do. The only thing is that the colors can be limited if you don't mix it your self(if you only use the rattle cans). Also you can peel it off(I couldn't hold it in, I'm sorry :)).

Edit: Look up dipyourcar on youtube, they have all sorts of colors(since they mix them), but I think you can only get white and black if you use the rattle cans.

Edit#2: I should note that Plastidip is easier to apply. Its harder to screw up than paint. With paint you need to use primer then a base coat(to get that right color) then the final coat(unless if you also use clear coat). The most you will need is a base coat for Plastidip(to get the right color) then apply the rest. No primer or clear coat needed(unless if you want a gloss coating, then you will have to do some tricks).

I plastidipped my motherboard and it turned out amazing. What color do you plan on painting your thermal armor? You will really like how it turns out if you like matte finishes. If not, who cares just peel it off and paint it. May as well try, plasti dip is only 4$ish for a can.

how well does it cover compared to paint?

Well, its thicker than normal spray paint, so, after a couple coats, imperfections and "spray can lines" are harder to see.

If you were using regular paint, I would recommend a spraygun for the best results.

Plasti-dip is great for thermal armour since you won't be having too much contact/abrasion with it, one things with plasti-dip is it lacks abrasion/contact durability compared to paint and will tear since it is a rubber coating, but that being I find personally that it covers worst than paint, just saying my opinion, where paint usually does full coverage in two coats and one initial coat and a lighter second coat, plasti-dip needs a minimum of 2-3 for a nice even layer. With that also comes with thickness, whihc ins't too big of a factor here but can be at times.

They do most generic colours in rattle cans. I used blue on my rig in my sig :)

But yes it has a great matt finish
