It depends of your needs, unfortunatly there is not only one aspect of a SSD that rate his speed for all usage.

If you doubt about what I say, do you need more bandwidth in sequential read, in sequential write, in random read, in random write, does slow latency is a problem if you can get high bandwidth, etc.

I don't have 2 config of SSDs for no reasons in my build too. I use my two Corsair Neutron GTX for high performance Random Read which is usefull in games and OS so I get low latency but quite high bandwidth as 1050 Mb/s where my other SSD config is based on a Samsung one paired with R.A.P.I.D for ''ultra'' high bandwidth as 6100 Mb/s but high latency making this SSD bad for games and OS but a beast for rendering.

There is huge gap in performance for games and OS between TLC and MLC based SSD too. Something too keep in mind if you really want the best for your money or just getting a random unknowledged dude answer to make you feel more secure about your purchase

If all processors and SSDs and PC parts would be the same or would perfom the same whatever the task you do on them, we wouldn't have so many choice for customization.

I don't know if you live in Canada or not, but if you do... You can get the Samsung 840 EVO for $79.99 at Canada Computers, or the MX100.

Just get MX100. For that money, its pretty much the only thing to get right now. Although its wise to squeeze an extra 30 bucks and get the 256GB version.

I'm going to commit heresy and say that while the MX100 is decent it's not the only game in town. At that pricepoint I would be looking at sales. Compare specs to the MX100 and see which one comes out ahead. I'd look at quality name brands, not the 3rd tier shit. Intel, SanDisk, Adata, OCZ, even Kingston as long as you stick with the Fury X series. Stay far away from the V series. Compare them to Crucial and buy the best that you can get.

Fury is actually utter garbage.

 

Other brands worth buying are crucial, adata or sandisk. Intel is overly expensive and uses crappy sandforce controller, samsung has its issues....
