I've always just touched the case whenever I've upgraded my PC and never had a single problem. :)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

I use the PSU method, never in my life I've used a wrist band. Just plug your PSU into the wall while it's turned off and put it in your case, touch it from time to time and that's it. Of course use common logic and keep the basic precautions like being careful with the screwdriver.

●CPU: i7-4790K w/H100i ●Mobo: MSI Z97 MPower ●RAM: Corsair 16GB Dominator ●GPU: EVGA ACX SC 780 3GB(X2) ●SSD: 850 Pro 256GB ●Case: 450D ●PSU: AX 860i ●Monitor: Asus PB278Q 1440p

I don't have a wrist strap or whatever it's called, should I build it barefoot? And about touching metal, is a radiator fine? (the heaters placed on walls etc)

Thanks!

Make sure you strip yourself nekkid because your clothes can cause static.

Wear no socks and wash your hands clean because we know you did the dirty before building.

Jokes aside, just make sure you wash your hands and stay away from carpet. When installing the CPU and CPU cooler onto the heatsink, use the motherboard box and wrap as your table.
