Am I getting bad frames in ArmA 3 just because of my processor, or is there some other reason for it. I have everything set at bone stock, so possible problems with OC would be minimalized. The rig is in the sig. I am getting around 40 FPS on single player, which is not acceptable.

I have, the frames just lowered. And Arma is known to have good scaling with AMD cards.

Ah huh tell that to my CF 7970ms

What settings are you use when it is running at 40fps?

Like high with a 1000m object view and 1500 general view distance. And shadows are off.

Hmm looking at the benchmarks you would have thought it would be ok, considering this is running at 48fps on a titan on ultra

but it does look like the 8350 is a weak point here

Arma cpu utilization sucks. my fps seems most reliant on the server I join.

I heard AMD cpu's suck on Arma 3. I play on all ultra settings and get an average of 30fps (3570k, 270). (Don't need anymore fps since the servers that I play on usually have a low server fps and you rarely go above 30 no matter what)

RIP in pepperonis m8s

It's your FX processor. It's a problem for some games, ARMA is one of them.

Your best bet for improved performance without spending more money is to overclock.

I use a 3570k @ 4.6ghz and get ~85fps on su matra wasteland servers, my friend I play with regularly has a stock 8350 and gets ~50 on a good day with consistent drops. I can only conclude that having better single core performance is the key for higher frames when it comes to arma 3. (I use a gtx 780 + 1440p screen, he uses gtx 770 + 1080p screen)

I kicked the clockspeed to my old OC profile (4.8Ghz 1.4V). I will try now.
