Hello everyone on the linus tech tips forums.

I would like you guys to help me plan out the ultimate fps gaming pc that i can buy.

This rig needs to be optimized for getting the highest frames per second and fastest response i can get.

This rig is all for gaming only, nothing else.

Anything you guys can recommend will be appreciated greatly.

Price is not a factor for this build.

Should have put this in earlier but come on guys keep it reasonable.

Don't go crazy on me now.

It looks like dual gpu system would be the best for game scaling.

For everyone that wanbt the location, i live in the U.S.

You can get 4 R9-295X2s thats technically 6 GPUs running at once if you put them in crossfire.

Is that even possible? It it was, that would be 8, not 6 GPUs

8 GPU's and not possible. You can only use 4 GPU's in one system. Each 295x2 has 2 GPU's so you can only use 2.

PC: 4770K @ 4.0 GHz --- Maximus VI Hero --- 8 GB 2133 MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro --- EVGA 780 TI Classified @ 1300 MHz --- Samsung Evo 250 GB --- Corsair RM 750 --- Corsair Carbide Air 540 --- CM Storm Rapid-I (MX Blues with PMK Evergreen Keycaps) --- Windows XP --- Razer Naga --- Custom Loop Parts: 380I, EKWB 780 Classy Waterblock and Backplate, 240mm and 360mm XT45, Swiftech MCP655, EKWB multi option reservoir, Mayhems Pastel Red, Primochill Primoflex Advanced Clear Tubing, 5 SP 120 Quiet Editions --- Mobile: Surface Pro 3 (i5 128gb) with JD40 (MX Clears) and Microsoft Sculpt Mouse --- Galaxy S6

Maximum is 4 GPUs with consumer cards, so two 295X2's.

And also 2x4=8

I suppose with infinite budget you could pay Nvidia and AMD enough that they'd make 4 Titan Zs or 4 R9 290Xs possible in 8-way SLI/Crossfire, but besides that you should totally ignore the above posts whatever your budget.

Yes all our posts are wrong but yours about paying GPU manufacturers to implement driver support on the completely useless idea of 8 GPU's is better. GG

On a mining rig. That doesn't count. You can't Crossfire them.

I hate to break it to you but yes, it is totally wrong to put four dual GPU cards together and hope to SLI/Crossfire them. Completely wrong.

You can use them all independently for compute, but not SLI or Crossfire.
