As others have suggested, get a Z97 motherboard, a different ssd, and a different psu. You might consider Antec HCG-620M for the psu. Pretty much any ssd except the V300 will do. (Shortly after release and without any notice Kingston changed to much slower memory chips. Hence benchmarks on early examples significantly overstate performance.)

As you all may know I have a ton of computers . They change a lot, new graphics cards (Or old ones), different CPU Coolers etc. I want one computer for my office that doent change that I don't touch I am trying to keep it sub $1000 USD. I have 16GB of 1866 RAM already and 2, 2TB hard drives.

The Specs I am thinking about:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($229.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($94.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB ACX Video Card  ($335.66 @ Newegg)
Case: Rosewill RISE ATX Full Tower Case  ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($66.66 @ Newegg)
Total: $977.27

Any changes. It really needs to be under 1k USD.

Get a Z97 board, other than that, nice build :)

If you don't plan on adding a 2nd gpu swap the psu for the Rosewill Capstone M 550W or any good 550W (Seasonic, XFX etc).

The Kingston SSD isn't very good. I would suggest the Crucial MX100.

Get a Z97 board over a Z87 board.

You don't really need a H100i for an i5. I would look at the Coolermaster Hyper 212 or something from Noctua/Bequiet. Is your current Ram low profile stuff ?

How's this?

I think we can cut down the PSU a good deal, he wants under 1k remember.

Because he had a hard drive.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
