So im putting together a build and i wanted to know if a Thermaltake Toughpower 550W Silver Power Supply would be enough to run the following system:

Intel i5 4690k

AS Rock z97 Extreme4

G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x4gb 2400mhz

Samsung 840evo 250gb SSD

Segate Barracuda 7200rpm 1TB HDD

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB

If it is not powerful enough could you please give me an example of a PSU that would be thanks :)!

Yes, it is powerful enough, but Thermaltake PSUs are not the most reliable, and are often very loud.  Where are you located, what is your budget, and what websites are you purchasing from?

Good PSU. No problems there. Just don't try SLI with it. Just because the 900 series are power efficient doesn't mean they don't use power. Plus using a lower-than-recommended PSU for SLI voids warranties for some companies.
