I want to do 4k gaming with games such as GTA, Minecraft, Battlefield, COD, dayz, ass. Creed, and more. Does my CPU matter? Should I get an i5 4690k, i7 4790k, or go with the new haswell-e CPUs?

Or, does the cpu not even matter and I should get a better graphics card. (I'm going with gtx 980 sli)

Thanks!

GPU>CPU.

Personally two 980's wont be enough power to be playing the most recent AAA games on ultra so thats what keeps me away from 4K atm but goodluck

yep but 4k has the advantage of scaling perfectly to 1080p so you can do that for demanding games and then just play older ones on 4k,

Really? Im sure I heard lots of stories of playing 1080p games with massive black borders due to playing a 4k monitor at 1080p?

Also windows doesn't scale well to 4k as the text/images are either tiny and clear or massive and blocky. (Its fixed in W10 though)

if you use something like the nvidia control panel you can upscale, eg each 1 pixel at 1080p becomes 4 pixels at 4k

no that is because the resoklutions are not scaling aka 1440p and 1080

I'm sorry to say buddy, and I mean this in the friendliest way possible, but that statement is totally incorrect. Two 980's provides exceptional levels of power, and with quite a bit of 4k experience on a significantly less graphically powerful rig (2 x HD7970), I can totally appreciate the experience two GTX 980's would provide. I can play BF4 maxed out at 4k at around 30-40fps. Not so pretty at times hahahahaha, but it's clear to me that two GTX 980's would play close to, maybe even surpass, the 60FPS barrier. Remember, the vast mmajority if not all 4K monitors are capped at 60hz.
