Assetto corsa mod community thinks 4k textures isnt enough

Im not sure if anyone follows this game but i recently got into the modding community for it and I was asking around the place to find out what resolution people would like me to make textures at.

 

So the general reply was that 4k was "ok" or "satisfactory", one guy said 8k or go home

 

This really surprised me, i honestly thought 4k was good enough but i guess im wrong.

 

What do you think, has there been anything or anyone else pushing for 8k textures.

yeah i believe at native it was very close to one arc minute is a the highest a human can see, of course some see more so we may go to 16k, and for all the placebo effect junkies.

 

I have high hopes for Project Cars!

To be honest it died the second they said that they wouldn't support modding, seems silly considering they say that its community driven. I guess they will learn their lesson soon, assetto corsa has exploded due to the modding. Hundreds upon hundreds joined AC solely due to that, they have also basically shut down the rfactor 2 mod community in doing so. The power of releasing a good sdk is massive, more games should do it, its hilarious as the kunos lead director was thinking the game would have maybe 5-10 cars and 4 tracks all italian, now look at it.

 

Another problem with project cars is it doesnt seem as simulator driven anymore, not sure what it is but something about the physics is off
