Hi, I need a new PSU for my system because my Corsair HX850W is producing some VERY annoying and loud coil whine when I'm playing games or GPU benchmarking. I managed to partially break one of the pins on the CPU cable, so my warranty isn't valid anymore :/ But I don't want this PSU anyway, because of all the problems I've been hearing of.

So I was wondering, which of these PSU's would you recommend for my system?

System:

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO, Socket-1155
CPU: Intel i7 2600K @3.4GHz
GPU: Zotac Geforce GTX 780 3GB
RAM: 8GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHz DDR3
PSU: Corsair HX 850W
CPU-cooler: Corsair H60
HDD: Western Digital Caviar® Green 1TB
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB

I have narrowed it down to three options:

Corsair AX760: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139042

XFX Black Edition: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=780494&cks=ASS&assoc=D17C9206-4ABF-4D73-94BE-9D52E5984D4D (Sorry that the page is in Norwegian)

Fractal Design Newton R3 800W: http://www.dustinhome.no/product/5010652532/fractal-design-newton-r3-800w-modular/ (Sorry that the page is in Norwegian)

Coil whine is my biggest worry, and I want to try to avoid it by any means.

Case: Fractal Design R4  Motherboard: Asus Z87-Plus  Processor: Intel i7 4770K  GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X  RAM: Corsair Vengenace Pro 16GB  PSU: Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 10 750W  SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB   Monitor(s): LG 24GM77  Keyboard: Logitech G410  Mouse: Zowie EC1-A  Mousepad: Puretrak Talent White Ed.  Headset: Kingston HyperX Cloud II

Vote for the AX760 here. For me corsair makes the best psus on the market and it may be because of the gpu, that this particular gpu coil whines.

The Newegg link needs to be fixed.

I recommend this PSU. It also has no coil whine in my experience. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194086

It's an Enermax NAXN 750 semi-modular 80PLUS Bronze PSU.

Hmm, not sure if I can get that in Norway. Which of the above listed would you recommend?

I'd take Corsair's or Fractal Design's unit.

I think I'll go with the Corsair unit. I found the Seasonic P-860W on a Norwegian site, but it's just too expensive for me. If I experience any coil whine with the AX760W, I'll RMA my GTX 780, as I had no coil whine with my GTX 580.

The Seasonics in Norway are very expensive. It's almost not a viable option. I'd say the 760i is a great option. Corsair makes rock solid PSUs, and the 760i packs some great features as well. The new HX-series has quite the reputation of winding up noise speed when under load. Some like it, some prefer a PSU that spins at a fixed speed all the time. Personal preference I think.

Current build: Antec P180, Asus P8Z68 Pro, Intel i5-2500k, Asus GTX 570 2GB, Patriot 16GB 1600MHz, Corsair HX 650W.

I heard the 760i has a bad fan or something. Is this true? I'd rather have a bad fan than coil whine though..

The Corsair and XFX units you linked are based off the same platform (Seasonic KM3), so they are very similar internally. The Newton R3 is based off a completely different platform altogether, but similar in terms of overall quality. I'd say all of them are viable options, I'd just go with the cheaper of the three. When it comes to high-end power supplies, there's really not much that's different in terms of real-world use anyways (both performance and reliability wise).

That said, some of the units based off the KM3 platform have said to suffer from coil whine (ie: the AX760 and 750w BEFX). While it doesn't seem to be the case with all units, it's something worth keeping in mind.

I've heard something about the high pitch noise that's quite common on the AX-series disappearing after a few days or weeks. I think I'll just hope they've fixed the AX760 to some degree, and get that.
