I recently replaced my GT 630 with a GTX 660. With my gt 630, I could run Far Cry 3 on low at 30fps (Iknow, really crap). I went on the game with my GTX 660 installed and I got 20fps on medium! I've tried installing both drivers from the gpu disc and the Nvidia website and it doesn't work. I tried uninstalling the drivers in safe mode and reinstalling them and it still doesn't work. My specs are:

AMD a6-5400k

4GB RAM

500w PSU

asrock fm2a75m-dgs

Please help! Thank you.

Your CPU is quite weak. Could be a bottleneck. Check GPU usage during Far cry 3. If it does not hit 90+% then you have a bottleneck

Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Sure, that'll be why a 630 outperformed the 660!

Do people even read the OP before bleating out fallacies like bottlenecks?

30 fps at low is not outperforming 20 fps at medium. Do YOU even read the OP?

First off, less condescending is welcome. Second, you need to learn to read as well.
