Which cooler to get?

Hi

 

I'm looking for something to replace my terrible AMD stock cooler, and also something that allows for overclocking. So far I've found the NH-U12S and NH-L12 to be good options. And I do want to get a Noctua cooler, so please don't suggest Hyper 212 EVOs.

 

So which one should I get? The L12 looks nice, while the U12S performs better. My case is the Corsair 230T, by the way. Thanks.

Get a U14s, D14 or D15, they will all fit.

Hyper 212 will require you to swap the stock AMD backplate with the one provided by cooler mater in the box !

the U14s costs the same as the U12s though, and even if the 14s is abit more expensive, it won't be alot more and will definitely be worth the extra money.

You could go with Cooler Master's Hyper T4. It's not as capable as the 212 but it mounts natively on AMD sockets. Just pop the old one off, clean, apply paste and mount to the existing mounting tabs. It's my go to cooling upgrade for AMD machines on a tight budget and it fits in most cases.
