what keyboard and switches

i have been using a mac for 10 years nows (father is a fanboy) and I'm finally building my own desktop. so I'm getting a mechanical keyboard. I'm not sure of what to get and I'm open to any suggestions except for razer. I'm still a student so i do loads of typing and gaming so I'm not sure what switches to get either.

You should try as many switches as possible, get a key switch tester. It's definatly worth it as switches are ALL about preference. Different keys are not 'better' for different things, all that "reds for gaming, blues for typing" is bolloks. Good keyboard company's are: ducky, cooler master, das, corsair.

Check out some boards in my sig. They are all great.

For switches, if noise isn't a concern blues are amazing to type on.

If it is, settle for browns.
