[NEED RECOMMENDATIONS!] 700 USD "Gaming" Build

Hey, so my friend is planning to get a gaming PC around Black Friday, but he needs recommendations!

Budget: <=700 USD *the cheaper the better!

Location: US       ^ in case you didn't catch that xD

Purpose: Gaming (and of course standard usage); the most intense game played will probably be Tribes: Ascend

Monitors/Peripherals: Undecided (recommend some stuff if you want!)

Existing Computer: A Dell Inspiron (with i3) laptop... sooo yeah...

***This build is supposed to be for gaming (*the most intense game being "Tribes: Ascend") and is set to last for the next 3 (three) years...***

His brother is also helping him choose parts and we have mini Skype debates where we talk about what parts to put in. His brother has put this together so far:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/brian13579/saved/RXXYcf

However, I am kind of against a few parts of the PC:

- the i5... we could save like $100 on the CPU (let's go AMD :P) and maybe up the graphics (to 770?). Or keep the graphics the same and save money.

- the RAM could be cheaper... there are cheaper alternatives (Mushkin at around 66 USD)

- the wireless card, but I don't know too much about that... will this be okay?

- obviously, the list lacks the peripherals... so SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE BUILD SO FAR? ANY SUGGESTIONS? DO YOU AGREE WITH SOME OF MY POINTS?

Thanks in advance!

PLEASE QUOTE ME WHEN YOU REPLY TO MY POSTS, thank you.

This has the possibility to be around $700 during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Muskin are fine, that Wi-Fi card looks a bit puny but should be fine, and while an FX 6300 can perform similarly in most games, an i5 may be better for longevity. Wait until Black Friday, having conversations now is a waste of your precious time.

yeap.. and to be honest yours, is perfect, just I did here based on i3 and r9 290, this i3 perform perfectly. You can do some research benchmarks, is just as a g3258 at 4.5+ but you still have 2 more threads left for opening other things, such as, skype, teamspeak, google etc, you know. And btw. the pc from inside it will look ugly :D, yellow, gold you know, but i dnt rly mind how is from inside :D.. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/creativethc/saved/VcJp99

DONT slack on the CPU. You'll love an i5 but better would be a xeon. Same price but performs like an i7.

Can you send me a link to the Xeon that you are referring to... Those bad boys are quite expensive last time I checked xD
