Upgrade my 7870 to a HIS Radeon R9 270X OC ?

Go to solution Solved by i_build_nanosuits,

The 7870 and R9 270X are EXACTLY the same GPU, you'll get the same performance from both cards.

The price you've mentioned is considered good for this card.

Hey

My dad is planning to buy myself a new GPU and will give my AMD 7870 to my brother, and we saw a pretty good opportunity : a  HIS Radeon R9 270X - IceQ X² Turbo Boost - 2 Gb for 90€ (112$) ! Someone already use it for a moment, but hey, for that price i'm not going to complain.

But my 7870 is still doing a great job and the R9 270x seems pretty much the same as a 7870 (since you do a crossfire with both of them).. What do you guys think ?

Hmmm what do you mean ? If he really need a new GPU ? Well have a crappy GTX 8800 so yeah he kind of need a new one, even tho the 7870 is going to bottleneck  the shit out of his old intel quadcore.

why not.

or just keep both and do xfire.

I can't keep both

It's an awesome deal, I'd go for it. Even though 7870=r9 270x.

I know right :P
