So I'm watching the WAN show right now (It's here: http://www.twitch.tv/linustech) and when Linus started late, it made me wonder- why?

I can understand that they have limits like doing real work before the show, their internet, and physically starting the stream. This week a technical difficulty caused the delay, and I began wondering, what are the stream PC specs? We all know that LMG has a few PC parts lying around. You get a behind-the-scenes look at the graphic's card situation when Luke was on TechTalk last night. (View it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V47hDv5AXU8&list=UUkWQ0gDrqOCarmUKmppD7GQ). Linus jus t walks in & walks out with ALL of the 980's. You can see the entire office here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EMhR6cUN8Y.

What I'm wondering is why Linus, Luke and the team couldn't make an overkill stream PC with enthusiast grade motherboard/ RAM, a huge SSD array, all their capture devices, and an i7. Maybe I'm overlooking something. What are your thoughts?

It is usually software and driver issues. I think there was  a handful of times that it was the hardware

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.
