Nope. The 780Ti is a fully enabled GK110 chip, and the 780 isn't.

I've got a Zotac GTX 780 and the prices dropped immensly after the 900 series release. Right now I can get a 780ti for the price that I bought my 780 for half a year ago. My question is, will they be able to run in SLI?

As far as I know they both have Kepler-chips and 3gigs video memory. Doesn't that make them SLI compatible?

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

They cannot run in SLI

they cant only cross fire and amd can do that type of stuff

Not 100% identical, just the chip and VRAM  have to be identical. i.e. different 3rd party manufacturers (MSI, EVGA,Gigabyte)

only the same chips with the same ammount of ram can run in SLI

They dont need the same amount of vram, e.g. a 4gb gtx 760 and 2gb gtx 760 can run sli but it will only count as 2gb and not use the 4gb

The chip is the GPU.

I know that. My point was that the cards don't have to be identical, just the chip or GPU and the amount of VRAM. Some people refer to the GPU as a whole.

I always thought the VRAM didn't need to be the same... also, even if one of the cards has a different frequency (OC) it'll work. Not 100% sure though.

I'm wrong, VRAM does not have to be the same but the excess VRAM on the card with more VRAM is not utilized at all
