Xbox 360 controller on Windows 8.1 driver missing?

Anyone know where I can get the driver for the Xbox 360 controller for windows 8.1? The windows 7 drivers don't work.

are you using the wired controller or a wireless reciever?

Tried it didn't work on 8.1.

Is the controller not working or what is the issue? The X360 controller is plug'n'play and should not require any drivers. At least I have never had to download anything for my X360 controllers on W7, W8 or W8.1.

Just tried removing the device. Replugged and tried to reinstall driver and failed.

I just installed the 360 Windows 7 64-bit driver on Windows 8.1 Pro, and BAM! Worked a treat.

As I mentioned, it didn't work.

Those are the only drivers sadly, unless you wait for the new Xbox ONE drivers and try those. 

 

What games did you try the controller in to establish it doesn't work.

Windows Device Manager already reported issues with it as I mentioned before in the above posts.
