Hey all, I just wanted to know everyones lifehack related to technology. And don't get carried away, i'm not talking about actually hacking life, someone was going to bring it up. I am talking about the ones that make life easier, or maybe fix something with a simple solution. The main purpose of this topic is to learn!

 

 

My greatest life hack was when one day, I was sitting at my gaming setup chilling, my feet on my table, then 5 seconds later, my monitors came crashing down after I started tipping back on my chair and had to grab onto the desk for support. <----- Thats not the life hack by the way. The life hack is when I realized that I am not going to be getting knew monitors for a while so, I started researching around the internet on how to fix these monitor accidents. So this is what I came up with, if you take an eraser and rub the scratch it will smoothen it down, so it fads away. But its not gone completely yet. Then I wiped it down, and after that I applied Vaseline to make it perfect. Just search how to fix scratched monitor online. There are many solutions.

Tech life hack:

 

Intel Haswell, Ivy or Sandy non-extreme CPU running hot? Wish you could cool it down without buying an expensive solution? Have a rusty old knife you never use? Well, you're in luck. You can do what I did and delid your CPU with that rusty old knife and apply thermal paste directly to the die that doesn't suck unlike Intel's default paste

 

 

For the record... Don't actually do that. Delidding is very risky and almost never worth it. While I did do it with a rusty knife, it's better to use a nice sharp razor blade or try the woo and hammer method

To be honest, I hate the term "life hack". It makes 0 sense. OH COOL YOU FOUND SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP PEOPLE, LET'S MAKE THEM FEEL BADASS BY CALLING IT A "LIFE HACK". NOW THEY'RE "HACKERS". Like the hell. It's just a cool trick someone found that can help you fix/do stuff more easily.

 

I'm now going to rant about this every time I see someone use this term.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

In respect to @Jerakl's woes... I'll call these 'solutions' or 'methods'...

 

This is a quick and dirty preventative method for wire flexing wear:

That's twist tie right there...

 

No headphone stand? Bag hooks work fine.
