Im looking to upgrade to the 970 from gigabyte and was just wondering if ill see  noticeable performance increase over my current 780 ftw edition. I do plan on overclocking it obviously since its basicly made to. And in the future ill probably be getting another one for a 2 way sli.

Not worth the upgrade from a 780, it performs basically the same, just with less power consumption.

They overclock insanely well though.

Not worth the upgrade. I'd consider the 980 being a worthwhile upgrade IF you know you're going to SLI it in the future, but even that is somewhat of a money waster.

Previously Trogdor8freebird

5800x | Asus x570 Pro Wifi (barely enough for 64GB apparently given it's 2133 and still crashes sometimes) | 64GB DDR4 | 3070 Ti 8GB | Love that whole weeb shit

The 980 isn't even worth the upgrade, You will still see little performance increase for the money. I mean IF you got the money to blow and u dont care and you always want top notch. then Yea. But a 780 to 980 isn't even worth the money imo....Maybe 980ti's but even thats questionable imo.
