Hello forums,

Just wanted to ask a quick question, is it normal for a raid 0 to take longer to boot into windows after BIOS than a single drive?

It takes probably 30-50 seconds extra to boot into Windows.

It's not that bad, but I'm just unsure.

Use disk benchmarking software like AS SSD Benchmark to test the speeds of your RAID 0 configuration and see how it compares to your single drive.

RAID also may take a little longer to boot than a single drive config because of the need to initialize all the drives in the RAID config, but it depends how many drives you're using. If it's just two, it shouldn't make a difference. However if you're like Linus and you have 8, then it'll take a noticeable time longer to boot.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

This is 99% sure the problem. Updating BIOS might help, but different motherboards will take different times to initialize.

This is what I get with raid 0

1 Drive would be around 500-550 mb/s

Yeah that seems about right. Try updating your BIOS like @Enderman said and see if that helps.

There is only one BIOS revision for the Rampage V Extreme, probably just the drives take longer to initialize.,

It also might be cause the Rampage V Extreme is a relatively new motherboard so they're still tweaking the BIOS and making improvements.
