Dose HDMI limit me?

I am currently using an HDMI connector to display the image for my PC..... Dose this limit the maximum fps I can have. I'm using my Xbox One's Hdmi cable btw. I want to be running at 120 and monitor and gpu can do that so I just need to know what i should be using my gpu also has a display port 1.2 but I dont have that kind of monitor. HELP PLEASE

it doesn't bottleneck you unless you have a 120+Hz monitor or you're playing at higher resolutions

if you have a 120hz monitor you need to use either dual-link DVI or displayport.

HDMI 1.3 can handle that but previous versions on you things (video card, cable, monitor) will limit it to 60hz

120Hz monitor will not work over HDMI lower then 1.3. HDMI 1.2 will only run at 60Hz.
