Will there ever be an Intel 6 core 1150 socket compatible.  I want to know this because I don't want to get a 1150 and not be able to upgrade to a 6 core.     I don't want to have to buy a new motherboard and processor. :blink:

No, i'm pretty sure the max is 4 cores if you want 6 you need to go 2011.

There's no way to fit six lanes of data traffic on a four lane data highway unless you want to wait which no one wants to. Need more lanes get more lanes on the mobo and CPU, 2011 or 2011 v3. The number of pins aren't different for the fun of it.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Skylake is expected for this time next year so if you want to wait  you'll have to wait a lot, maybe broadwell will come out at the end of this year

what are the chances that the next gen of -e processors will stay on the 2011-3 socket?

100% they always do 2 gens per socket

Well remember the i7s are somewhat 8 cores.

Don't go there that is wrong on so many levels.

Hyperthreading != Cores
