Which Wireless Adapter/Card should I get?

Hello. I have an old Dell PC that used to use an Ethernet cable with, but now since I have it far away from my route I use the integrated wireless card and its incredibly slow. I used to get 30 mbps internet with the Ethernet cable, but now with the integrated wireless adapter 0.40 mbps. So, I want to buy a separate wireless adapter for it, but I don't know which to buy.

When they say 300 mbps does it mean the internet speed of the signal could get up to 300 mbps?

It achieves a maximum theoretical throughput of up to 300Mbps.

It achieves a maximum theoretical throughput of up to 300Mbps.

So anything above 300Mbps it wouldn't recieve right like Fiber/1Gbps.
