GPU question.

Hey everybody! I am currently building my first PC and have a question about GPU life cycle.  I was planning how long does a "high end" gpu could last and still get great performance (60+ FPS) and ultra/high settings @1920X1200?

 

I am planning to get a GTX 980 and Asus PA248Q (I plan on getting this monitor because I'm planning to play console games on this as well as PC games). I want it to last at least 4 years at these settings. Am I asking too much?

 

I know it all depends on the games and the developers, but I want to get the experiences of other uses with "higher end" GPU's.

Depends on the game. A 980 can't get 60+fps in all games at ultra/high.

Whenever developers decide to stop using last gen tech and start using newer engines that use the full capabilities of the "next-gen" consoles.
