The GPU.

Q2. Is it better to spend more money on the CPU or the GPU in a gaming PC?

GPU

Q3. What are some common mistakes made when people assemble there own computer?

Spend too much on one thing, ex 16GB RAM vs 8GB. Expensive motherboards

Q4. What would be a good tip for a first time computer builder?

Research, research, research. Ask on forums like this one about your build. Do not build a computer until you are 100% sure it is what you want.

CPU: AMD 3950x Mobo: MSI B550 RAM: 32GB DDR4 GPU: Asus 3080 Strix PSU: Superflower Leadex 3 720w Case: BeQuiet 500DX

1. For any PC, make sure the system is balanced

2. Spend more on GPU. Sometimes, just an APU will have to do.

3. People tend to not check in with other builders/make sure the build's balanced.

4. Run it over with some people. Make sure the build's balanced. Overclocking is your friend.

Q2. Is it better to spend more money on the CPU or the GPU in a gaming PC?

Yes, it makes certain heavy graphic processing games runs better and also the detail.

Q3. What are some common mistakes made when people assemble there own computer?

Some overkilling on the item build and some too stingy and buy a cheapo CPU and keep complaining bout the performance.

Q4. What would be a good tip for a first time computer builder?

Do research and ask friends who have better knowledge in computer technology. Forum such as this helps too. =)

Q1. What do you thing the most important aspect of a gaming PC is?

GPU

Q2. Is it better to spend more money on the CPU or the GPU in a gaming PC?

A good combination of both. A slow CPU will bottleneck the GPU.

Q3. What are some common mistakes made when people assemble there own computer?

Cheap PSU, cheap cooler, or the opposite, overspending on components (for example: 850 watt psu with an APU and no dedicated GPU, I have seen those).

Q4. What would be a good tip for a first time computer builder?

Do research! Get as much information about every single component (reviews, tech specs, ...), Get information about how components work together.

Q1. What do you think the most important aspect of a gaming PC is?

A system that is build just for the person's needs (Gaming, rendering etc.) and is balanced enough.

Q2. Is it better to spend more money on the CPU or the GPU in a gaming PC?

On a gaming PC, GPU absolutely.

Q3. What are some common mistakes made when people assemble their own computer?

Spending too much money on the CPU and getting a cheap GPU alongside it, thus making it an unbalanced system (like I made that mistake too).

Q4. What would be a good tip for a first time computer builder?

Building PCs aren't as complicated as it may sound like, but be aware and careful when building one. Gather information about building PCs, components, other's builds and experience, other's thoughts about a system you're planning to build (like trought forums)... Knowledge is power.

Also build your system to meet your needs: if you plan gaming a lot, build a PC designated for gaming. If you plan editing videos, rendering etc., build a PC rendering in mind. If you don't know what you plan doing a lot / are doing pretty much everything equally, build an all-around PC.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.
