XFX RMA Log: How good is XFX?

From what I have read people either think XFX is amazing as far as customer service goes or rather satanic. So, here will be posting my findings from RMA'ing my 290 that had some memory issue that caused black screens. I noted in the RMA issue description that down clocking the memory kept the card stable. I also requested a double dissipation cooled model as a replacement for my reference card explaining that the reference card was very hot and loud. I was given an RMA number and filling out the forms was very easy. The following is a log the dates and times from which things happened:

9/18/14: Card shipped from Oregon to the RMA facility in California

9/22/14: FedEx Delivered the card to the RMA facility

9/23/14: XFX marked the card as received on the RMA status.

9/25/14: XFX Tested the card in Crysis 3 and the card crashed to a black screen. The card was then labeled faulty.

9/25/14: The replacement card's model number is: R9-290A-EDFD which is a double dissipation card as I requested. Looks like this will be a sub 2 week RMA turn around. Very impressive.

 

9/30/14: Received a brand new in-box Double Dissipation cooled R9 290. I was expecting a refurbished card but a new one is fantastic. Couldn't be happier, and the two week turn around including shipping both ways isn't bad at all.
 

In sum, I could't be happier. As far as customer service goes, in my experience, XFX is like the EVGA of AMD.

If in the US and CAN it should be fine, anywhere else you only have store warranty, which is horrible sometimes

People generally consider XFX as the EVGA of the AMD side. 

 

I've had no problems with XFX RMA'ing my 7870. Came back in 2 weeks.

they do receive a lot of hate about it, never had to deal with it, but colored me surprised. love evga on the green side though.

Agreed, I do see an EVGA card in my future once my 290 isn't good enough for ultra settings.
