Hi! I'm am building my first gaming computer, right now I'm on an old gtx 260, i7 office / watching cat videos computer that my parents friend put together out of spare parts. I would be ok ordering from the UK, if i need to order it from the US I would have to cut down the price becouse of the shipping cost. I was planning on getting the new GTX 970 and maybe an i5. If really necessary I can pay 980usd. I am planning to run 2 144hz 1ms 1920x1080 24inch ASUS monitors, I am also planning on getting the Razer BlackWidow Chroma and the DeathAdder Chroma (these are not in the price). I am gonna play games like CS Go, Battlefield, a litte CoD, GMod and other games to have fun with some pals, I am going to bring this computer to a couple of school LAN's so I don't wan't a full tower really. If anyone got any thing to say about this please do.  :)

They only cost 390usd but yeah.... there are alot cheaper versions

one is almost half of your budget.......

for £550 ($910 in pounds)

I would likely go for an AMD APU build, seeing as you need to buy monitor, keyboard, mouse, case and all the hardware inside.

Even with a cheaper monitor, your requirement of a GTX 970 makes it hard for us to plan a balanced system.  You should wait for the GTX 960 to come out because games like CS GO and GMOD aren't all that system intensive anyways.

i5 4670k (can OC to 4.4Ghz) - Hyper 212 evo w/ AC MX2 - XFX Radeon R9 280X8GB ADATA XPG V2 DDR3-1600 - MSI Z87 G41 - Corsair CX600M 600W PSU - 1TB HDD - 120GB SSD

agreed planning in a 970 wil likely make us need to back off in the CPU department.

an i3 and 270 would make a pretty cheap budget rig, leaving room to updrade to i5/i7 and a better GPU down the road.
