I dont think they would all fit. You would only put the gpus in the blue pci slots. so 4 way is the maximum, anything else isnt physically possible

 eGPU Setup: Macbook Pro 13" 16GB DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD, i5 3210M, GTX 980 eGPU

If I were to get the p9x79 e-ws motherboard, would I be able to use all 8 slots for graphics cards at the same Time? 4 nvidia, 4 amd? Not going to actually do it, just curious. Thx

There are only 7 slots on that board.

PCIE risers would allow him too fit more on the board.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.

PCI-E risers.

Is 8 way SLI even supported? Do they even make bridges for that

No it is not, and no they do not.

Nope. There isn't really any point in it either. As of now, no consumer board fits more than 4 GPU's without any PCI-E risers. And if they were to use a backplane, they likely wouldn't be using SLI anyway.

Hang on, I'm about to throw 7 K4000's in a system ;)

I'm pretty sure it would work, but I dont know how windows will manage all those GPU's. SLI and Xfire are a no go.
