Hello guys

I have a serious problem. I have two external HDDs Western digital (1x 1,5TB, 1x 2TB) which are now empty ?!?!? On friday everything was okay, no problems at all.

Then on saturday morning both of my ex HDDs were empty. Theyre working completely fine and all but are empty! Its like they've formatted somehow over the night :((( how is this possible?

there is a posibility that my computor has been hacked ?? :o I had all my life saved there. All project for music production, all samples, everything was there!!

This is the first time that i have a problem with HDDs.

Is there any way that i get my data back? Cause without that data im dead :/ please help guys!!

Answer ASAP please

Use Crystal Disk Info to check the health of the HDDs...

Also use Malwarebytes to make sure you have 0 viruses that could possibly do this.

Look at your event log for the re-format if it happened or some disk error/BS. Otherwise, I blame the Ghost in the machine.

Meaning you.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

Man that sucks.  I know I would pull a fit if my NAS just broke tomorrow and I just put all my anime on it.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you have troubles locating your data. Before using data recovery software it's worth checking if it could be something with Windows permissions.

You can try:

Right click on the drive.

Select "Properties".

Go to the "Security" tab.

Check that "Users" (or your user account) has "List folder contents" selected.

Also check if they have been marked as hidden.

Open the "Start Menu"

Type "folder" in the search box.

Choose "Show hidden files and folders" from the list (if it appears).

Check that "Show hidden files, folders and drives" is selected.

You could also turn off "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)".

Hope that helps
