ultra wide 21:9 vs. oculus rift vs. triple monitor setup

Hi all,

My question is quite a difficult one, it's very specific. So I got a 2gb gtx 770 and a single 1080p monitor, I'm looking for an upgrade. It's meant for gaming and 3d work. The games I'm looking to play are racing sims and bf4, hardline etc. An ultra wide from lg would be 2560*1080, the oculus will probably launch with 1440p or higher and triple monitor would be 5760*1080 of course. So the next question is: could my single 2gb gtx 770 run these setups? It doesn't have to be on ultra even though it would be nice for immersion. So what would you do?

Thanks for reading!

I would not advise going above a single 1080p display on a single 770

I'd go for the oculus rift if you plan to do a lot of gaming and want the most immersion.

Do you think 2560*1080 would work?

Thans for answering btw

Your GPU will handle it perfectly fine with that resolution and the games you will be playing.

Actually, I have done it. Most games run at 5760x1080 at high w/ AA, ultra w/o AA at 40FPS+. And that's from a 2GB card. I wouldn't advise it either, but it is not that bad.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 512GB SKHynix PC401, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x Micron 1100 256GB SATA SSDs | GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Lian Li SP 850W

Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial DDR4 Pro | Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES | Storage: 128GB Samsung PM961, 4TB Seagate IronWolf | GPU: AMD FirePro WX 3100 | Cooling: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-850

Dont bother going 21:9 unless its a curved screen, ive tried 21:9 on my last monitor its good but the monitor needs to be curved it doesnt look quite right been so wide ona flat monitor.
