I don't think so...

why because Gigabyte is already binning theur gpu chips, I remember the 780Ti was actually the same chip as the 780 just higher binned. and seing the gigabyte GTX 980s are already being binned GM204s at the maximum clocks. so I don't think so.

maybe they will do something like the R9 295X2

@Daniel91
I think I gave a better reason as to why there isn't going to be a GTX 980 Ti, in your last thread no less.

The GTX 780 was not a full GK110, we knew that since the release order went like this.
GTX Titan during the GTX 600 series. [2688/2880 Cuda Cores]
GTX 780 with the GTX 700 series [2304/2880 Cuda Cores]
GTX 780 Ti with the GTX 700 series, [2880/2880 Cuda Cores]
GTX Titan Black during the GTX 700 series. [2880/2880 Cuda Cores]
The GTX 980 is a full die,[2048/2048 Cuda Cores], there is no logical reason for them to magically find cores where there aren't any.
And there's no logical reason for them to call something that is a completely different architecture the GTX 980 Ti.

So if they release a better card it'll be based not on GM204 but on GK210, and it won't be a GTX 980 Ti but something like GTX (Behemoth/Titan II) for $1000, and then maybe we'll see a GTX 1080 and GTX 1080Ti based on GK210 on Maxwell refresh next year for a more attainable price.

The 780 was not the same chip with a higher binning rate, the 780ti was a full GK110, the 780 has some of the cores locked.

I think that nvidia will make a ti version if AMD's upcoming flagship will be faster than the 980.Although,imo, GM204 is not about speed(same as GK104),nvidia won't allow not to have the fastest card in the market.

How do you know it's a full die btw? (i'm a little rusty on the new cards)

The 780 was not the same chip with a higher binning rate, the 780ti was a full GK110, the 780 has some of the cores locked.

12 out of 15 SM units enabled on the 780 to be exact, each smx units on the GK110 contained 192 cuda cores making the GTX 780 a 2304 kepler cuda core GPU.

The vanilla titan had 14/15 enabled (2688 cuda cores) and the 780ti, titan blacks and quadro K6000 where fully enabled 15/15 GK110 (2880 cuda cores)

i've heard the GTX 980 is a fully enabled GK204 already isnt it? there should not be a Ti of that card...i might be wrong.

They might release a GK210 or something like that with even more core though...but it should be after the 900 series.

I would think that the 980 is as good as its gonna get for this generation of nvidia cards.

I don't think so because the 980 is priced like the gtx 680 which didn't have a ti and at the same time it is using a fully unlocked core with no disabed rops or shaders

the other reason I don't think there'd be a 980Ti is .... nvidia's sales chart it seemed players would prefer to purchase extra 780s (as in dual 780s) or titan blacks over 1  single GTX780Tis

+ even if they do make a better card it probably won't be for gaming like the titan for rendering

@SpyRosL PCPer

The GM204 chip (the full implementation of which is found on the GTX 980), consists of 4 GPCs, 16 SMMs and four 64-bit memory controllers.

They also make block diagrams that show when an SMX/SMM unit of stream processors is disabled.

And I also said earlier in that thread I linked, all the things being said here were already said.

The GTX 980 is a full GM 204 supposedly, so if they release another higher end card it won't be GM204 and so it won't be called the GTX 980 ti.

It would be given a name that shows it isn't part of the current series, like the GTX Titan.

And if they do release a GTX 980 Ti then it'll just be a higher clocked GTX 980, like the HD 7970 Ghz vs the HD 7970 regular, in which case nobody would care about such an insignificant troll.

Also if you want to tag someone just type @ + that persons member name, like I did at the start of this post with your name, and it'll auto-format everything for you.

Well,that's unfortunate.I expected a ti version with ~2560 Cuda cores monster. I don't know why but i think AMD will come with a very powerful line of cards. Let's see what GM110 has to offer in the future.

Guessing you mean GK210?

ummm.

the 780ti is NOT a higher binned 780, 780 has 2304 cuda cores while the 780 has 2880.

I feel there will definitely be another card to top the 980 coming right after the 380x gets released.
