I have been doing a lot of research and I cant seem to find the right option

I am not a heavy user

occasional video editing and photoshop, lightroom etc

plus everything a random user does

with my current use I think 4690k suits me

but I will be using this build for atleast 5-6 years

so should I go for 4790k?

I will be overclocking after a few weeks

I will be going for

MSI Z97 Guard Pro (cheapest Z97 available in India & because it comes with a M.2 slot, I can use a sata express extension in the future)

G.Skill Trident X (2x4gb)

I have a Samsung 940 Pro 256GB SSD

Please help me choose

AFAIK, the 4790K uses better TIM being the 5th gen part and the 4th gen parts do not have the new and improved TIM (Thermal Goo)

So the 4790K will be cooler at idle and load.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

for productivity and generally for a longer usage time, the i7 would be a better choice.
