i do rendering, so think as having to game on a machine continous for 12 hours.

*i would like to keep them as long as possible, that's the point of asking*

here are the either part lists:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/LMhJBm

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/qdW8P6

only GPU are utilised in extensive renderings

but the CPU are for final edits, and the work before that

The one with the 4790K. But try to get a Z97 board. Not sure if they have updated the BIOS on the Z87 boards out of the box to support Devil's Canyon CPU's.

but would the temps be hottter? i want it to last 5 years, afterall, to me, it's my whole savings, and it took me 5 years to save

With one 980, the performance (or lack of) after 5 years will bother you a lot more then how the coolers on two 980s have held up.

First build. But change the get different colored RAM, this just looks weird, and a 600 or 650W power supply instead.

Add an ssd to whichever one you choose. The one with the 2 980s would last longer.

i don't have the money, as i said, either one would be already max out, i'm acctually gonna be borrowing money off someone, about 100 - 200 pounds, so less is better, but i NEED it to last

I don't think you get it, but I don't blame you cause I just realized how horribly worded my response was. lol

What I'm trying to get at is that with two 980s thermals won't be an issue. It will hold up for more then 5 years without an issue. If you're keeping your rig for 5 years, 5 years later you'll be glad you went with two 980s instead of one.

this guy has a point, anyways saw your profile pic and name and i wonder whats the use of a fucking mustang with a ecoboost engine, mustang should always be v6 or v8 not eco friendly shit

Some people use their Mustangs as daily drivers, so having lots of power + good fuel economy is a win-win situation for many people.

yeah looks good ,just ditch those shitty seagate hdd's

They draw under 600 from the wall last time I checked. O.o

I wouldn't pull more then 500W from a CX rated at 600. I'd pull all 550W from the S12G though.

*shrug* Everyone has different experiences.

Does the CX600 have enough amperage for it though? It's kinda cheapie get out tbh

Lowest quality PSU I would get for any dual GPU rig (never mind dual 980s) would be the Rosewill Capstone

I know, but I think even Rosewill branded Super Flower PSUs have a tendency to blow up.

Never had a Capstone blow up on me, but had a CX500 come faulty, so yeah
