FX-8370, maybe with a slight overclock, depending on the application and how multi-thread optimized it is...

Personal Build Project "Rained-On"

helped building up the CPU Overclocking Database and GPU Overclocking Database, check them out ;)

i don't want hate speach or anything like that... i;m intel fan as well and that;s why i dunno crap about AMD processors, but i want a lower budget pc that;s why i;m going for an AMD!

What do you use your PC for? At pretty much any price point there's a better CPU from Intel.

I'm also including platform cost here, as a decent AM3+ board will run $100 and you'd probably want a $35 cooler (212) to save your ears :P

I'd say there isn't a direct equivalent.   If you have to pick an AMD cpu then go with either a 8320/8350/8270 depending on your budget and then overclock it, you should get similar performance to an i5 in curtain tasks.

Give him the time :P

Well so far I haven't been called:

  • Fanboy
  • Stupid
  • Intel fanatic

And no one has said:

  • Games will use 8 cores next year
  • 8 is 2x 4
  • AMD has higher clock speed
  • AMD is much cheaper

Can u tell me any good mobo? All i've seen till now have PCI Express 2.0 standard and all graphics card have 3.0 standard (how many fps difference? )

If you mean CM 212 Evo i have that cooler and it's similar to stock CPU Cooler that Intel gave me with i5 3570k. Don't tell me that AMD doesn;t give you CPU cooler with the processor? :o

For AMD? I quite like the M5A97 EVO R2.0. PCIe 2.0 doesn't have any impact on FPS yet (your AMD cpu will be a bottleneck before PCIe will).

It's similar to the stock cooler? Nope :P

AMD give you one. It's loud though.

I'm intel fan as well BUT

AMD has 8 cores (games using 2-4 cores so the rest are a bit useless, - )

It has better OC (i can send you a list with world records OC processor and there is 1.2GHz if i remember well difference between AMD and Intel, + )

has more power consuption (if you buy an AMD instead of Intel you will cover the difference in price in about 20 years, + )

It's hotter as far as ppl says (never had an AMD in my hands to test that and i really don;t wanna hold an AMD processor ever, - )

it's better for rending (as some1 else at this thread said and AMD's graphics cards are better at rending vs Nvidia's)

so i think Intel Vs AMD are pretty similar and it's up to us to decide what they want to buy... i'm going for intel cause i think it;s more reliable than AMD and i love quiet/cool systems! Plus AMD processors are still out there and that means something!

I have CM 212 Evo 2 years now and i have same temps as i had with stock cooler... The only think that's better it;s that i don;t have to clean it often! :P

Is it overclocked?

And do you have a 3570K now? In which case don't upgrade :P

i won;t upgrade to an AMD... i will upgrade to 5th gen Intel's processors...

No i don't know yet how to OC, i'm a bit afraid not to hurm my components and i don;t think it;s necessary for me to OC anything!

And i don't want an AMD for me it;s for a friend with strict budget!

Ah right. Well if he's looking at entry level gaming (260x, 750ti) then a G3258 + asus H81 board (asus allow for overclocking)

if he wants to spend a bit more a i5 4460 + h81 board
