Will the 750 Ti be replaced?

Speedbird

Hi

With the release of the 900 series from NVIDIA and Maxwell coming to high-end cards, I really wonder what will happen to the GTX 750 Ti. AFAIK that was the first Maxwell  card (it was this or the 800M series) and I consider to be a great card for 1080p gaming on a budget and a competitor the R9 270X. Will NVIDIA pull an AMD on us and just name it the 950 Ti without actually changing the card itself? Will this card last longer than the rest of the 700series? What do you think?

The 750 Ti will not be discontinued until the 950 Ti at least. It's too good of a budget gaming card to be discontinued.

But it will probably just be a rebranded 750 Ti, as it will still be Maxwell.

Knowing Nvidia they will actually give it a slight upgrade. Simply slapping a new name on it is AMD's style. However even if it is a rebrand the manufacturing process has been refined in the mean time and newer products (even if just rebrands) tend to be better in the silicon lottery overall

Proably. I hope it gets 3GB VRAM, seems to be needed for upcoming games.
