970 or 990 chipset?

in my opinnion if he renders allot, its worth it to go with an i7.

It will still be time saving.

Why didn't you go with the i7 then? Don't tell me you bought your 8350 for its single threaded performance

OP why would you want a 750W powersupply and a motherboard that can't even do SLI or crossfire? 550W is PLENTY for your planned build (any single GPU), otherwise if you want SLI ready look for this motherboard it's only a tad more:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97g45gaming

You could also go with the i5-4690K but the 4670K seem quite a bit cheaper where you are..it's up to you, both perform the same but the 4690K have better thermals and might overclock easier with less heat...if you are not that much into overclocking be advised all the 4670K will hold at least 4.2ghz stable, you do need an aftermarket heatsink to overclock.

If you go with a 4690K be advised you need a Z97 chipset motherboard.. otherwise if you pick Z87 board you'll have to update(flash) the bios PRIOR to using your new CPU.

750 watt was just for a why not, in that case my OCZ 550 watt should be enough?

if i use that i could pump more money into CPU for the I7.

Let me guess IOMMU? There's no hypervisor which runs on Windows that supports AMD Vi/VT-d so you bought AMD for a feature that you think is making your CPU faster - that's something I'd call a fictive reality. Performance will be better on Intel, definitely. Tell us what IOMMU is useful for. I'm wondering how you became a mod on Teksyndicate, actually anyone who sells AMD becomes one. Aslong as you spread misinformation, you're a mod. That forum is probably some AMD kidsgarden there, recommending 8 cores for singlethreaded games.

5 years old kids can load an iso in vmware who are at least capable of finding out what's inside a choke. Stop being on a road for conspiracy theories on your own.

i was talking about KVM, not the kiddy stuff you work with lol.

But again dont try to lurk about things, you have NO fucking clue about ;)

Intel has nothing to offer for KVM in the same price range as amd has.

With all the feutures that AMD has to offer.

Go ahead and google as much crap you could find about it, like you did with the term IOMMU

But just stop lurking about things you dont know  :)

By the way, why are you going offtopic again?

Dont you have anything better to do?

You try to look smart, but you are far from that

If you realy wanne discuss about virtualization, and kvm and such.

Then first go and learn things.

Who's running a KVM on his desktop anyways? Lol. Lets stop lying.

Im still more interessted in Wendells KVM project, but thats a diffrent story  ;)

:P

Learn to use google, instead of dodging my question whats inside a choke.

You paid more than what a i5/Q chipset costed, so lets not use the word price as an excuse.

Do you see! brain melting down!

What do you know about is live, or anybody live and professional needs?

to say that nobody uses KVM, just because a AMD cpu is better than the Intel in that matter!

wtf dude!

Dude just stop it lol.

You make a complete fool of your self.

Google more and better please.

Come back to me if you know everything ;)

The guest doesn't need VT-d. Don't tell me you're running a KVM host on your main PC. There's no hypervisor that works on Windows that has VT-d.

Google again and stop lying after I showed a quote where Wendell teached you how to set a KVM up.

The matter of fact, he also lives in Holland lol.

I know how Dutch people are.

I don't and we don't use a silly excuse dyslexia when we cant spell.

O you're running Linux and not Windows? Think we're done here. Stop lying after you admited Wendell teached you how to set one up when the question was why you purchased that 8350.

I'm glad this started out as a chipset question that has turned into AMD have done nothing for 10 years and only do good in visualisation.

It's just an excuse. AMD fanboys have enough imagination to find excuses to defend their 10 years old CPU that gets outperformed by a Surface pro 3 >.>

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and you should be good to go.  That is one powerful productivity machine.

worth spending more on an AIO? 4.5 GHz OC would be nice.

If you are going to do an AIO, you need to get a 240mm, minimum.  It will cost more.

Search for i7-4790k + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.  You might be able to do 4.5Ghz on the EVO, temperatures will be on the higher end, but it should still allow you to achieve it, remember the 4790k comes in at 4.4Ghz stock.  The i7-4790k tends to run kind of hot because it is a beastly processor.
