Overheating Issues HELP!

Hi guys,

Need your help!

Far Cry 3 arrived yesterday and I installed the disk and fired up the game with much excitement! Made a new save and started the opening chapter. Next thing I know my PC restarted and a nice hot electrical smell was detected. I set about investigating, I have been having problems with my power supply fan and I discovers this is not spinning. So I removed a case fan and angled it into the power supply to get good optimal airflow. This seemed to work!

Next thing I know it happens again! This time if was my CPU that is overheating and this makes no sense to me as my cooler has always got me ice cold temps.

Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD FX-4170

GPU: Sapphire R9 270x OC

PSU: CIT 450w atx non modular

Hi. It may be possible that the PSU is causing it. I recommend you to get new PSU because you may lose your PC with this one fairly soon.

I agree. Try a different PSU
