So I always liked Ubuntu and such, but my brother kept on saying that Ubuntu was to hard to configure.

Should I install it? Is it worth the trouble?

If so, link me to a Ubuntu 14.0.4 installation guide, tutorial or something else, or just help me writing stuff :D

Thanks

Ok, thanks but can someone give me some guides or link me to them? :P

They have quite a bit of information on their site^^ http://www.ubuntu.com/

And if that isn't enough there is always the ubuntu forums :)

1) why do you want to install it? Are you replacing windows or are you dual booting?

2) do you want to play games or not?

3) have you considered other linux OSes like mint?

All depends what you want from this operating system.

1. If you are not gaming or you're  dual booting then go for it

2. Also you could create live usb and look around without doing permanent changes to hard drive.

Ubuntu isn't hard to configure at all, probably one of the easiest ones out there.

Best thing I can recommend is browsing something like unixporn to find bit's you like, from there you can go about getting them, configuring them etc. The standard Ubuntu Desktop distro is basically ready to use, very simple and has your must have apps. However I'd recommend reading into custom window managers and guis like KDE, Gnome, bspwm & Openbox just to name a few of the many out there. Linux is great for modding, customizing and really making it your own.

If you're completely new too linux and the syntax, i'd recommend installing it on a virtual machine to get the hang of it, then if you like it, move onto making it a boot-able option. I'm no linux expert, however I love to tinker with it. Best of luck!
