That did influence a lot of games but look at how much of a difference cod has made to the fps market, this feels odd to defence cod, im not an advocate of the game but its made a big difference and destroyed games like medal of honour, damn nearly killed battlefield as well.

You mean like how they make a new one every year.........

Sooooooooooo...........  What was good about COD then?

(ill try to talk about cod4 mostly)well it sold a lot, it threw up big numbers in your face for killing people and threw medals and crap in your face. There was a pretty solid class system and progression system, the map design was pretty good but optimized for console, 50man servers on cod4 never ended well.

I think cod is so successful as it tries to reward you for everything, people like rewards and stuff, at least they did when cod4 came out, that was the gamechanger.

Then cod became the justin beiber of the fps world, it was pretty good but the fame got to its head.

It Influence asshole to send me invitation I don't care at all on Facebook. And influence other app shit to do the same, and make facebook a casual shit gamer platform.

It was Farmville that really started that, Candy Crush has had a more widespread influence though.

Counter-Strike and other mods.

Operation Flashpoint. ArmA, maybe Red Orchestra before it. Which leads to...

... CoD4 Zombie mod, later DayZ as is.

Minecraft for making early access viable method with larger audiences.

Blizzard and Valve. The two companies that actually make games for E-Sports.

Then there are games that reviewers time to time mention as ones bringing certain features. Like Mass Effect and from console side Gears of War.

Unreal Tournament, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Half-Life. I only chose half life because without it, there would be no counter-strike mod.
