i would change the Agility 3 to something like the Samsung 840/pro Series. The rest seems pretty good. I have no idea of dollar prices, so how much money is left for the gpu? ^^

Don't go with an Agility, take a Vertex 4 instead or a 840... ;)
A 670 or 680 would fit in nice :)

I'd change the SSD to a newer one though like a Crucial M4, Samsung 840, Vertex 450, or Corsair Neutron GTX, whichever you can get for cheap.

I would also recommend either a GTX 770 or 7970 for your graphics card.

Everything else looks to be in order.

i'd definitely wait for Haswell, as even if you don't fancy getting it, it'll drop the prices of the other CPUs. also, i'd look at a 1 TB HDD and maybe a less powerful PSu

AMD 8350 // 8 GB Corsair Ram // PNY 780 Ti // Asus 1080p Monitor // Antec 120mm AIO // CM Quickfire TK w/ Custom Caps  // RAT 5 mouse // Audio Technica m50x // Behringer 4-line + Line6 8-line Audio Interfaces

How about this? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/11Fcb

Or this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

But the first one will give you better performance and overclockability

I am buying the parts around late July or when they are on sale.. i am not really keen on Haswell because i am not a hardcore gamer... but thankyou everyone :)..

i think ocz agility 3 was a combo with the windows 7.. but ill probably go with samsung 840 ssd. the price of the rig without GPU is $940

Try this. An i5-3570K with all the parts you wanted and a GTX 770 all for under $1250.

This should be great for gaming, and all of the components match a black/blue color scheme.

You can put money into a better CPU/CPU cooler if you want, or buy a nice monitor :)

GTX 770, vertex 4 or sammy 840 ssd. Go for a atx build for upgradability and expansion with the fractal R4 and the mobo you've chosen

wait for haswell to come out and buy a used 3570k, a 128-256gb 840, a 2tb seagate barracuda and a 7970 and see how much it all comes to, i bet itll be cheaper than what others are suggesting and you'll get pretty much the same performance, tons of hard drive space, a snappy boot drive (SSD) and you can get a 7970 for £300 not £400 nvidia are charging for a 680/770, better still get a 7950 ad overclock it, boom saved you $90...

I created this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/11N11

It includes a H220 which is great for overclocking and I chose the Arc Midi R2 since this is a airflow optimized case unlike the R4 which is a silent optimized case so you can get more airflow. Went with a AMD cpu because it has the better bang for the buck and having more cores is useful because games and apps are starting to use those cores. If you don't plan to go above 16gb of ram, Windows 7 Home Pentium will be fine. If you want to expand over 16gb of ram, you would need to get Windows 7 Professional 64bit or higher.

well a few good things to look into when building a new system:

What you use the computer for?

your budget ($1400)

format? you don't know yet if you want ATX or m-itx, an ATX system would be easier to build.

Intel or AMD (Intel you have choosen)

Then you can work out what you need.

also do you need to include a monitor / keyboard / mouse / speakers / printer in this budget?

http://www.corsair.com/en/pc-cases/carbide-series-pc-case/carbide-series-300r-windowed-compact-pc-gaming-case.html

^^^ if you want a good ATX case for unter $100 this is a good case with side window, i am going to order it for myself soon as been looking for a good case with side window and USB 3 header. slightly cheaper than than most other cases but still real good specs.

if you want the challenge of building your system from components you pick, it will be good and exciting for you, if you want to make it slightly easier, you can get pre assembled bundle packages (m/board with cpu, memory and heatsink / cooler fitted) but its not the same as putting every part together yourself.

also good idea to ware latex gloves and a anti static strap.

got to love Asus components

i have every peripherals but the monitor.. my build is around $1250. i should have enough for monitor.. might be over $1400 but it should be worth it :)
