i have every peripherals but the monitor.. my build is around $1250. i should have enough for monitor.. might be over $1400 but it should be worth it :)

ok, but what do you want from this computer system, is it for games, media, work? as this will determain what components / specs / speeds you would need and where to put the money into depending on what kind of rig your building.

got to love Asus components

Ok, well most people now are going for 16 gig kits of memory if you want to do video editing it might be a good idea to get a 16 gig kit, also when choosing memory look at the motherboard manual for recommended vendors / specs for the board, this way there will be less issues. if you don't have the motherboard go to the manufactures website and download it first.

go with a half decent graphics card (video card) AKA GPU with plenty of onboard ram (2 gig or more) something like an Evga 660ti ovderclock with backplate is a good start, then later on you will be able to save and get another and run Sli if required.

Another good thing is to work out the wattage and what PSU you require (power supply unit) and nice to get a fully modular one or semmi modular. i have a Evga Supernova 750w Gold fully mod PSU and love it.

Consider a sealed liquid cooling kit (closed loop) like a Zalman LQ315 or a corsair H100i there pretty nice and keep everything cool and quiet.

well thats a start, also a SSD for windows is good idea and keep everything Sata 3 (6 gig / sec) interface.
