Hey Guys, This is Austin ;)

I have some GSkill Ripjawz and I just got done painting the black mesh on my case red. I am considering painting the RAM heatsinks as well, but am not sure how to remove them. Can anyone help me out? Also what repercussions may this have?

Thanks,

Austin

I want to get the entire heatsink, and none of the RAM. I think it would be difficult to get the tape in between the fins on the top onto the PCB below? , and Plastidip would probably be the best.

I think you pressed the wrong quote button? :)

If plastidip gets between the fins and on to the ram you don't have much to worry about, and you can always get something like tweezers or a pencil to get it off.

Oops.... Do you think the heatsink would come off easily? I have seen tabs but I dont know if they press fit the heatsink together or if it is just clips.

Like AlwaysFSX said they're most likely glued using thermal adhesive onto the RAM chips, you could try heating it up to remove it using a hair dryer or heat gun on very low, just be careful when handling.
