Z87-G45 Gaming

So as the title states

I bought this motherboard and pair it with G3258. Now all I see is black screen.

Tried clear cmos, taking each part by part and still nothing.

Could It be its not booting due to the non latest bios support for G3258?

The bios needs to be updated for the G3258.

Unfortunately, that requires a cpu, which works on Z87 (Original Haswell -- not devils canyon era)

I can't even enter bios. How do I update it?

Like I already said, you need a pre-devils canyon chip.

So I can only update if I have a example: I5-4570?

You can update if you have any original Haswell Chip--The cheapest being some Celeron ($50~)

Or you could exchange it for a cheap Z97 board?

Only Asus mobo´s have usb flashback, which makes it possible to flash the bios without an supperted cpu installed.

THats why i like Asus boards lol :D

You better go to the shop, and ask them to flash the bios for you.

A bit of a dumb seller to be honnest, if he had any hardware knowledge, he should have known this

Well, some boards come with an updated bios, and motheboard companies aren't exactly upfront about what bios revision is on the board.

I.e. see Newegg, why can't they list the bios version that comes with the board? Or what revision the board happens to be.

Its probably depending on what hey have in stock, maybe you got unlucky, and had an older stocked board.
