He's new to PC but is enthusiastic. He's paying with his own money.

I chose a motherboard that can sustain two GPUs, if he wanted to use two >.>

I'd probably change the case but I need good suggestions.

I would highly recommend getting 2x4GB DIMMs so his memory runs in dual channel, it's a lot faster that way. I could recommend a few cases but they are quite a bit more expensive so I'll just suppress them. 

As for charging him, I wouldn't even charge a friend but if he insists I'd just do like $50 even.

this is a great idea.

i would get an ssd instead of the hdd.
